Whipping out a mirror every hour to reapply your makeup can be a nuisance. So how can you achieve that long lasting look from day to night?
Lips
Lipstick can be the finishing touch to a polished look but it’s never long before your colour fades and you’re left with dull, washed out lips. Try the following trick to hold your lipstick for longer. Apply a base coat of your lipstick and lip liner if desired. Dab your brush in foundation powder and tap on the side of the pot to avoid excess. Dust a layer of powder over your lipstick before applying a second coat of colour.
Face
When using liquid foundation, it’s often a good idea to set your makeup with a sweep of powder. The last thing you want when you’ve spent time perfecting your flawless complexion is the addition of brush bristles. Washing your brushes in shampoo and conditioner the first time you use them is a great way avoid this. Regular cleaning of your makeup brushes can also help maintain a clean complexion as brushes trap dirt and bacteria which can lead to spots.
Eyelashes
Long, volumised eyelashes are one of the most desired features over the past few years. Although some people like to wear false eyelashes, it can often be a battle finding a pair that complements your face. Eyelash curlers are the best route to take if you want to exaggerate your natural lashes. To avoid your eyelashes falling flat, heat your curler with a hairdryer for five seconds and then carefully crimp your lashes. The heat will hold them longer and with two coats of mascara you’re set for the day.
Eyebrows
Eyebrows can often be a main focus, with correctly shaped eyebrows framing your face. A quick tip to hold your brows and stop any stray hairs is to lightly spray your eyebrow brush with hairspray before gently sweeping it through your brows. This will hold them in place and also give a natural shine.
