Our hair can set us back a lot of money. It never used to when we were younger, but then we discovered colour, trendy hairdressers and the latest must-have hair gadgets.
The problem that we're now facing is that we rely on these products to make our hair look good, and this doesn't come cheap.
With the credit crunch getting us all down in the dumps, we thought we'd bring you some simple hair tricks that won't leave you counting the pennies.
Inject Some Colour:
We all love getting our colour done, but this is often the most expensive thing to have done at the salon. Either switch to home hair colouring (and these are pretty good too) or go for a colour boost that will tide you over until your next top-up.
2 in 1:
Get yourself some 2 in 1 products that do two things at once, this will most certainly save you some money. A dryer which dries and straightens at the same time is certainly worth a look.
Back to Basics:
Instead of purchasing some expensive tongs, why not go back to basics and invest in some good old fashioned rollers. They can be as cheap as £1 for 4, so you'll definitely have money to spare.
Get Rid:
With all those expensive products that you pump into your hair, it may surprise you to know it's doing more harm than good. Product build-up is not a good look in hair, so why not add some tea-tree oil into your shampoo. It may sound weird but its formula is expert at removing products which have left your hair dull.
Home Remedies:
Lemon in the hair for highlights is an old fishwives tale, but lathering on conditioner and then wrapping your hair in cling film will give you shiner locks in just a few hours.
