It's not just your wardrobe and skin that get affected by the cold weather, it's your hair too. You may not realise it, but your hair can become damaged and brittle if you don't protect it during the winter months.
While we're nearly in spring, the weather appears to have other ideas and following the amount of snow we received a fortnight ago, we thought it was high time we showed you how to guard your hair against the unpredictable weather.
So, today we're looking at cold weather in general and what we can do to make it look less dull and faded against the stark winter backdrop.
There's a reason your hair looks brighter, lighter and generally more healthy in the summer and that's because it reflects light, when we're in winter however, you'll have to work a tad harder to get that gorgeous glow.
If you regularly colour your hair, especially with bleach then it will look a lot dryer. To combat this you'll need to pump it with plenty of moisture to get some life back into it.
You may also need to cut back on using your hair straighterners and curling irons during the cold weather, as these can also dry your hair out and cause your hair, in extreme cases to snap off.
Try going natural for a bit and giving your hair a rest from all the heat and colouring, but if you insist on still doing both then just restrict your usage while the weather is so cold.
You can also improve the condition of your hair by using a few select products, such as light reflecting shampoos and conditioners and an intensive treatment mask once a week.
Also invest in a good heat protection spray, as any new found moisture needs to be kept in and looked after- particularly if you're styling your hair a lot more in the winter months.
