Gabby Logan is forever looking glamorous, which we think is quite the achievement considering she’s busy with her jobs, a wife and a mum.
The nice’n easy Permanent Colour Crème Celebrity Ambassador is planning on enjoying her Mother’s Day at home.
She envisages going for a long walk before a nice lunch, with some sports activities to keep the kids entertained. Here, Gabby openly talks about motherhood, how it has changed her life, and how she does it all whilst looking so glamorous!
“Having access to quality products that I can use in the comfort of my own home is a life saver as a busy mum…
It seems like everyone is time-poor these days, which is one of the reasons the professional at home beauty trend is so great. It isn’t just about saving money - I can colour my hair and prepare the dinner or maybe do my nails. So for me, I want a very high standard but also time to focus on things I need to do. It’s funny, when I was little my Mum used to colour her hair at home, and now that’s me!”
“My Mum is my beauty icon…
She is gorgeous and apparently stopped ageing at 50 (she is 64)!
“Motherhood has changed me in many ways…
I am less selfish and am even better at juggling! I see the world differently because I think about their generation and how the decisions we make will impact them. A marker for development is society getting wealthier from one generation to the next. But I wonder how the next generation can really be more prosperous than this one; I think we need to stop measuring purely materially and place value on balance and happiness. I would honestly rather my son be happy in whichever job he chooses rather than being in a well-paid job where he isn’t happy.
“The best thing about being a Mother…
Is being responsible for another human being and their development and happiness – it is such a privilege. When you think about it, it’s quite an awesome task that you take on when you give birth - you have roughly 18 years of them at home where you have a direct influence, some might say 10 years before they start being influenced by everyone but you! Then, once they head off you have a lifetime of being the person that they might want to shout at, cry with, or need in their happy times and in their low moments. It’s the most wonderful connection you can ever imagine - it’s visceral and physical and yet you have to be able to detach yourself and be a disciplinarian and a guide as well as a friend. If I had to sum up the best part of being a Mum, it’s seeing your children develop their own passions and start to build their dreams, in the hope that you can help them realise their potential.”
“The best Mother’s Day gift I’ve received…
Is anything homemade! I love it when they make things for me, like plates or cups or even drawings. I don’t want anything flash; those homemade gifts are much nicer to me.”
“Since having kids, my husband and I have super dates every month…
It was actually one of Kenny’s Christmas presents from me. I have booked really great restaurants that are hard to get into. It is hard when both of our jobs involve nights out and working at unsociable times, we just want to stay in when we can. But the conversation you have at home is never the same when it’s just the two of you in a restaurant or somewhere outside the home.”
“It is always worth making the effort, whatever the occasion…
Mother’s Day is no exception! My top hair tip for busy mums is to have regular haircuts – then, when you don’t have ages to spend on styling, you still have a great base. For me, colour is also really important – I am known for my blonde hair and I think natural looking hair colour is best on me so I tend to stay within two or three shades of my natural colour. Colouring your hair at home can also be a time saver - with nice’n easy Permanent Colour Crème, I can put on the colour, set a timer, and get on with other jobs that need doing around the house. It’s great for a multi-tasking mum! I use nice’n easy Permanent Colour Crème in Natural Light Champagne Blonde. It’s so easy to use and is an instant pick me up when my hair colour looks a bit dull.”
