Dip-dyed hair could soon be the latest hair trend to hit the high-street, as the new spring looks start to gain momentum.
Charles Worthington first experimented with this look last spring/summer 08, taking inspiration from the catwalk and weaving it into his latest hair trends.
Jennifer Aniston was spotted working this look as early back as 2003, when her character in Friends sported dark roots and lighter ends for the entire series.
Aniston then kept the look for films, Along Came Polly and Bruce Almighty in the following months. We're not entirely sure if Jen worked the style on purpose, or whether she was just letting her roots grow out, but either way, she looked great.
Avril Lavigne rocked the trend for a younger generation, sporting bright pink ends to her blonde hair, which admittedly is a look that not everybody could pull off.
Carolyn Newman, Colour Director at Charles Worthington designed the technique by colouring sections of hair using a scale of 3-5 different shades.
Their process used a colour palette applied from darkest to lightest, blending in carefully where each shade meets to give a professional looking contrast.
Essentially this look could be as simple and understated as you want, or as OTT as you'd like as well. Honey to ice blondes will look great for the summer, whilst brunettes to fiery red will look amazing for the autumn.
If you're brave enough to give it a go, we have a feeling that neon and acid brights may also be a big hit for hair trends this year, as the catwalk was awash with colourful clothing and accessories.
