If you thought that crimped hair was reserved just for children, then prepare to be gobsmacked, because crimping is officially back in fashion.

Luella flirted with the look a few seasons ago with her witch themed show, and ever since then the crimping revolution has rumbled on, with celebs like Lindsay Lohan, Madonna and Christina Aguilera getting in on the act too.

Ossie Clark also dabbled with the look for his SS09 runway, forecasting that it will be big news for the upcoming summer months. He used both soft waves and tight crimps on his catwalk, and we loved it!

With it set to be a fun trend for the summer, what will happen to it as we head into autumn? Well, from what we saw in New York, London, Milan and Paris, crimped hair is set to be a mini-trend for the winter months.

Karl Lagerfeld seemed to have re-ignited the crimped hair trend for AW09 once again, with his fabulous show in Paris.

Lily Donaldson, Jessica Stam and Raquel Zimmermann were just some of the models on the catwalk, sporting extremely crimped hair for the legendary designer and carrying it off superbly.

Now, while you may have your reservations about this beauty look, rest assured you can work the crimped look in your own way, either rocking it to the max, or simply sampling the style.

Try crimping small, random sections of your hair to begin with to see if you like it, and if you want to experiment more, then crimp more pieces until you have a whole new hair-do.

Don't go overboard though, as you'll end up looking like you've just stuck your fingers in a plug socket, and that was the result. Scary, OTT hair is never sexy, so crimp with caution!
