Cheryl reveals her tips and tricks to her beauty routine

Cheryl Fernandez Versini always looks flawless; we know this through her years in Girls Aloud, on our screens on X Factor and of course her solo career where she gets all hot and sweaty on the stage with energetic routines.

But how does she manage to look immaculate all of the time?

Of course she plenty of help on hand thanks to make-up artists and stylists? Well no, the singer admits she prefers to do her own make-up.

Speaking to HELLO! Fashion Monthly she said: “I prefer to apply my own makeup. I’ve lived with this face for 31 years! I know it better than anybody.”

But she is thankful for the tips she’s learnt from the experts over the years:

“I’ve picked up so many great tips over the years working with some of the world’s best makeup artists

“I know they say not to wear red lipstick and heavily made-up eyes, but I love statement eyes, so I say just go with it. I love lots of lashes, liner and red lipstick, it feels very grown up and glamorous.”

And there’s another part of her face that she won’t let anyone near, her eyebrows. Cheryl ensures she doesn’t relinquish control when it comes to these:

“I don’t let anyone touch my eyebrows. I’ve had threading and waxing disasters – I don’t trust anyone with my brows, so I do my own. I do it as soon as I get out of the shower so it’s less painful as I have such thick ones.”

And while it may look like she has perfectly chiselled cheekbones she puts it all down to her secret trick, eye shadow:

“I use eye shadow to contour my cheekbones. A matte taupe eye shadow is the best product to create cheekbones. My makeup artist Lisa Laudat taught me that tip years ago when I was in Girls Aloud.”
