Dealing with breast cancer is something which affects all of us and our everyday lives. We may not have it personally, but startling statistics reveal that most of us know at least one person who is dealing with the disease.
Be it a family member, friend or someone at work- at some point in your life, you will undoubtedly come into contact with breast cancer in one way or another.
Through Breast Cancer Awareness Month, there are a variety of messages and campaigns out there to help educate you, on how you personally can make a difference.
This could be something small but significant, such as buying a breast cancer pin or purchasing a new top from the high-street, but if you want to make a difference to the person who you know, then why not help them feel good about themselves.
We've come up with some feel-good tips to share...
Pamper
Pampering always makes us feel good about ourselves, so book yourself in for a hand massage at your local beauty salon. Although Chemotherapy changes nails so that manicures and pedicures are ruled out, enjoying a simple hand massage can still be very pleasant and relaxing.
Health
Fill your body with healthy goodness, such as fresh fruit and veg each day and limit your intake of red meat. If you're not keen on eating your 5-a-day, then try blending the fruit into a smoothie, and do the same with vegetables. It may not sound like a nice option, but it's an easy way of getting some goodness into your body. Try Glamazon smoothie from Crussh, who will donate 50p from every one sold, to various breast cancer charities.
Soy beans are also a great way to get large amounts of protein into your body, with very little fat and no cholesterol. Give Soy milk a try if you don't fancy eating the beans themselves.
Relax
There is nothing more relaxing and soothing than a nice warm bath. Treat yourself to some expensive lavender and camomile bath salts or oil, to help relax and ease those aching joints. Try Arran Aromatics Essential Lavender Bath Oil, £8.99.
Exercise
Yoga is great for flexing both mind and body, and isn't too tiring. Doing it every day for an hour or so is fun and soothing, and the simple stretches should help you relax. Get yourself the Easy Yoga DVD, for £9.95 from The Healing Store.
