Make up artist Jemma Kidd really understands the importance of a great smile to give you confidence and make you instantly feel more beautiful.

"An instant pick-me-up at any time of the day is to thoroughly brush your teeth to make you look and feel great," says Jemma.

Here are her top tips for a dazzling smile:

  • Moisturise before applying any make up to the skin. Let the cream soak into the skin before adding the make up
  • An instant pick-me-up is to brush your teeth to really help you feel confident when you smile – any time of the day.Always prep your lips before applying a gloss or a lipstick
  • Apply lip balm after brushing your teeth
  • Opt for a non petroleum based lip balm so that you don’t give the lips a greasy surface to apply the lip stick to. By applying lip balm not only are you moisturising and helping your lips stay in great shape it will help hold the lipstick colour for longer
  • Maintaining good oral hygeine is also essential for achieving that breathtaking smile. Top dentist Dr. Mervyn Druian gives his best advice for keeping all your teeth looking their best.

  • Floss at least once a day before brushing. As the saying goes ‘only floss the teeth you want to keep’
  • Always maintain good dental care and brush your teeth twice a day for at least two minutes
  • Change your tooth brush every six weeks. Worn bristles can cause damage to your teeth and gums, they become less effective and old toothbrushes make great homes for bacteria
  • Use a toothpaste with fluoride as this makes the tooth more resistant to decay
  • Make and keep regular appointments with your dentist and hygienist. Not only for your teeth, but also your health, as the dentist can spot many potential oral health problems such as oral cancer.

Now there's no excuse not to treat the world to a great big flash of your naturally gorgeous gnashers.
