It's the little pink pill that has a lot to offer in the beauty department.
Studies has shown that it can reduce crow's feet, improve skin firmness and even protect from the sun.
The results of a placebo controlled study showed that a little pink tablet called Colladeen Visage - a potent mix of natural, plant extracts high in lutein and anthocyanidins - can offer statistically significant skin benefits.
The pill can provide a natural sun protection factor of 10, researchers have found.
Scientists also discovered that the pill strengthens small blood vessels that provide nutrients and oxygen to cells.
Nutritionist Dr Sam Christie, who reviewed the three month medical trials, said the tablet had visible effects on the appearance of skin because it supports structures beneath the surface including collagen.
"Plants protect themselves from sun damage with pigments such as lutein and anthocyanadins. When these are present in high quantities in our diet we see a complex effect on skin chemistry: a natural SPF is achieved as well as an ability to reverse pre-existing sun damage," explains Dr Christie.
"The study shows that Colladeen Visage has proven, visible effects on the appearance of skin. This is thanks to the complex way it supports the delicate structures beneath the skin's surface, including the main structural protein collagen."
The tablets are available now from naturesbest.co.uk, £18.95 for 60 tablets.
