How would you feel if you were banned from having a Brazilian? (wax that is, not a man) because that's exactly what had been proposed to happen in New Jersey.
However, the proposed ban to ditch bare-it-all bikini waxing was rejected on Friday, after salon owners complained about the loss of business during bikini season, according to Marie Claire.
Spa owner Linda Orsuto: "It was an unnecessary issue. In New Jersey especially, where the government has been picking our pockets for so long, it was like, ‘Just stay out of our pants, will you?’"
The ban was suggested initially after two women were hospitalised for infections, following their Brazilian waxes, with one woman even filing a lawsuit.
Despite health warnings associated with having a bikini wax, which can irritate the skin and cause infection if done improperly, according to skin care experts, millions of American women still choose to have the painful procedure done.
According to Marie Claire, Consumer Affairs Director David Szuchman killed the plan with a letter to the board, saying he won't lend his support to the ban.
Phew, that's a relief, can you imagine if a similar ban made its way to the UK?
