Yes, it may be a distant memory to some now, with everyone now focusing on Paris, but New York Fashion Week kicked things off in style, so that's where we're going to start with our beauty rundown.
Showcasing some of the world's best talent, New York was a roaring success in terms of fashion and style, but the celeb turnout and the amount of designers dropping out did somewhat dampen the mood.
That said, there were some amazing new beauty trends being showcased, which perked us right up from the doom and gloom of the recession.
Rebecca Taylor gave us asymmetrical twisted hair knots, teamed with pale lips and glittery eyes to create a woodland fairy effect, which was perfectly complimented her running theme of the show.
It was quirky, cute and wearable which bodes well for us come early September, as this will be the hot look to sport. Pale skin is obviously a given, but with light lippy and exaggerated white eyes, you'll look like a snow bunny- in a good way of course.
Diane von Furstenberg combined her animal jungle theme with thirties and forties beauty looks, including loose waved hair and elegantly styled eyes and lips.
The simplicity of her beauty looks worked well against her pom pom headwear, chunky knitwear and leopard print maxi dresses, as they didn't take anything away from the clothes.
Marc Jacobs layered on the colour thick and fast with his 60s inspired pop art tribute, which sat nicely alongside his bright 80s collection.
Although we'd find it hard to pull off yellow eyes caked in eyeliner, the sheer precision and accuracy of the way it was applied was something to be proud of.
We particularly liked the nude lips and coral blush applied on the models' cheeks, combined with the messy quiffed hair; it was sheer creative genius at it's best. We approve!
Christian Siriano worked gold, gold and more gold into his collection, which was a nod to his opulent and elegant collection.
His models strutted down the runway with scraped back hair finished with gold headbands, gold fringes or gold headpieces, combined with gold lips and gold blusher.
Yes, it would be very difficult to pull off gold lips in everyday life, but we liked that he took a risk on the runway and showed his talent is evolving each season.
Our favourite beauty look to come from New York however, came courtesy of Anna Sui, who aside from convincing Daisy Lowe and Agyness Deyn to walk in her show, had one of the best collections of Fashion Week, in our view.
The designer took things back to childhood with her doll like cheeks, heavily painted eyes and red lips, combined with a Russian Revolution feel to her clothes.
Her wide-eyed expression painted on the models was a breath of fresh air, and although we won't be copying the entire look come autumn time, we think it's safe to say we'll definitely be giving the wide-eyed innocence look a go.
