Banishing wrinkles is high on women's beauty agenda, as seven out of ten British women are on the search for them.
Delaying the dreaded ageing process is a big consideration for 71% of women, claiming they actively look for products with anti-wrinkle ingredients.
Most said they wanted to preserve their skin and keep it looking tight and fresh for as long as they could.
One respondent said: “In the last 12 months, I’ve really started taking an interest in anti-ageing products. It started with hand creams and I’ve since moved onto skin care. If it doesn’t have an anti-ageing ingredient then I don’t even consider it. I may pay extra but if it helps me look just a couple of years younger, then it’s worth every penny."
Dark eye circles were a problem for 59% of the women with many stating they looked for skin products that helped reduce these and puffiness around their eyes.
Another added: “Dark circles under my eyes are the one thing I’d love to banish, so anything that helps me do that is a beauty must have for me. I use all sorts – eye correctors, concealers – if a product claims to help, I give it a go.”
Products which firm and tone the skin were a must for over a third, 39% with a further 34% looking for products which claimed to reduce or get rid of blemishes.
A spokesperson for discount voucher site PromotionalCodes.org.uk, who conducted the research, said: “Buying beauty products is a personal thing and the relationship us women have with the endless face creams and beauty products is a relationship no man can ever hope of understanding.
“It’s interesting to see that anti-ageing is a big consideration for a lot of people. It shows women want to look after their skin and their beauty routine can help them do that.”
