Hormonal acne regularly affects many women and is playing a huge part in the decreasing confidence of women in the UK.
In a recent survey by Bio-Oil, it was found that acne breakouts were the second biggest confidence woe for women.
Testosterone can have a big impact adult acne, specifically adult women. When the female body is lacking estrogen, more testosterone is often produced. During ovulation and menstruation, pregnancy and menopause estrogen takes a sharp decline and so there is a rise in testosterone. It is during these periods that women are likely to develop acne breakouts, or their acne will worsen.
