Hairdressing legend Vidal Sassoon turns 80 today - he has had a phenomenal career spanning 60 years.
Sassoon, labelled 'the Chanel of hair' by 60's icon Mary Quaint, created many hairstyles that have lasted through the decades.
Sassoon is credited with creating the modern bob hair cut which is still popular today. Sassoon is also famous for creating the pixie crop that Mia Farrow sported in Rosemary's Baby, another hair style that was copied worldwide.
Celebrity clients have included Catherine Deneuve, Jean Shrimpton and film director Roman Polanski.
