Our feet usually spend the winter months hidden away in boots but that is no reason to neglect them when it comes to your beauty regime, in fact now is as good a time as any to look after your feet.

Hasan Ukra, Boots Pharmacist, says: "Sheepskin boots are a great way to keep your feet warm in cold conditions, but sweaty environments can be a breeding ground for infections such as athlete's foot and fungal nail infection."

So it looks like we should be taking care of our feet now, even if it isn't flip flop weather.

If you don't want to use an expensive foot cream there is a cheaper option.

Milk contains lactic acid which is an alpha-hydroxy acid, the same product found in many pricey creams. Soak your feet in warm milk instead for the same effect.

Make sure you keep your nails in tip-top condition as well, keep them short and square to avoid getting ingrown toenails - not a good look!

You want your feet to look good but winter is a great time to keep your nails free of nail varnish when no-one can see them. Wearing nail varnish for long periods of time can cause your nails to discolour so give them a break to ensure you don't get yellow nails!

Finally keep the skin on the bottom of your feet soft by exfoliating them with a pumice stone. This works best when your feet are wet as it softens the skin.

Keep your feet looking great now and you'll have a head start when the sandal weather finally arrives!
