Does Britney have the best hair from 2008?
There have been a lot of great hairstyles in 2008, with celebrities all wanting to take home FemaleFirst's prestigious title of Best Hair.
This year has been huge for the bob and crop, all thanks to Posh, and the fringe came back in style.
So join us as we look back at the five best hair styles of the year, and tell you how you can get hair like the stars!
Coming in at number five is Diana Vickers. Perhaps taking inspiration from her mentor Cheryl Cole, Diana is working the big hair look in her own way.
Diana's hairstyle is simple to achieve, and works best in mid length or long, layered hair. After washing hair, rough dry until it's 80% dry, then blow dry straight. Take a tail end comb, and back comb at the crown of your head, and then at the roots. Spritz with hairspray and you're all done. Remember though, the claw hand is optional!
This time last year nobody expected to be saying this, but in 2008 FemaleFirst wanted Britney Spears' hair! Yes that's right, Brit is our number four!
At The MTV Music Video Award in September, Britney showed she was back with a bang, sporting gorgeous, curled locks. This hairstyle works best on hair that hasn't been washed that day. Working through with sections as you would for straightening or curling, wave the plates down your hair, taking it in towards your head, and then outwards, and then in and then out again until you reach the tips. It’s a lot more flowing than the ribbon curl that most of us use to curl our hair with ghds, and the best part about this look is the less perfect the better!
In third place, we have Victoria Beckham with her latest hairstyle. Known for constantly changing her mane, Posh shocked us all when she unveiled her newest 'do, a daring crop.
Victoria's style is not for the shy amongst us, you have to be brave and confident enough to pull this off. The look is best suited for those lucky ladies with great cheekbones and small features. The crop is versatile, as it can be worn sleek or spiked up. Work with product to really show off the texture. A messed-up, disheveled do generally looks younger and sexier.
Just missing out on our top spot is Hollyoaks's star Roxanne McKee. The beautiful actress won Sexiest Female at 2008's British Soap Awards, and with her gorgeous hair, it's no suprise.
Roxanne's look works best on long hair. To get her curls, blowdry freshly washed hair and use heated rollers along the top section of hair creating soft waves, Use smaller rollers for the bottom section of your hair, to create tighter curls. When the rollers are removed, back comb gently at the crown of your hair. Keep hair was secured with a spritz of hair spray.
And finally, our winner of Best Hair 2008 is, Leona Lewis. This girl has looked fabulous all year and we're lusting after her curls.
This look works best on freshly washed hair, before you stat add a small amount of serum, then section out the hair into one inch sections, and place a large barrelled curling tong underneath your hair at the root. Twist each section around the tong and hold for a few moments. Clip the curls against your hair and allow to cool. Release the curls and gently run your fingers through your hair to loosen the curls. Finish with some hair spray.
