Youngblood Natural Mineral Loose Foundation

Youngblood Natural Mineral Loose Foundation

The sun is finally beginning to come out! When it’s hot, the last thing you want is a face full of cakey make-up, and that’s where mineral powders come to the rescue. They give good coverage, but are light on the skin and give a flawless finish.

We’ve picked out a cheaper one, and one of the more expensive best-sellers, to trial and give and honest verdict about which will get you the best value for money.

Save: Natio Mineral Pressed Powder

This mineral powder was quite messy, when using a brush you couldn’t really control how much you wanted and often quite a lot of it was wasted as it didn’t hold very well on the skin upon first contact, so that meant putting layers on. Apart from that, it was a very nice powder, and I loved it for its matte finish. It didn’t give all the coverage I required, but if you’ve got pretty good skin to start with then you should be safe with this. It stayed matte all day and required barely any topping up, which is great when you’re constantly on the go. This is going to sound odd, but it had a nice smell to it, so it wasn’t a case of scrunching your nose when applying which is the case with some other powders. Overall, I liked this product, but quite of a lot of it is wasted when using a brush, so it would get a massive thumbs up if it came with a sponge instead! You can get yours for £15.60.

Splurge: Youngblood Natural Mineral Loose Foundation

I think I fell in love with this product instantly. You can use it on your face, shoulders, neck, everywhere! It gives a lovely glow and a slight shimmer which makes your skin look really bright and refreshed. The coverage is great and you barely have to use any and it still creates a flawless finish. I liked that it was a loose powder as it was much easier to control how much you wanted to put on your brush. It needed topping up a few times a day, but I didn’t mind as the results were worth it. You get your monies worth with this, I’ve been using it for weeks and it looks like I’ve barely used it. The only con with this is it does get a little shiny at points, I’ve found that putting a little blot powder over it when first applied keeps it looking fresh for hours and hours. This is a make-up bag essential and worth the splurge! Get yours for £32 from ybskin.co.uk.
