Rihanna, Gwen Stefani and Agyness Deyn have all been rocking the quiff look of late, making it one have the must-have hairstyles of 2008.
The 1950s inspired look is a popular style right now with prom dresses, pink lipstick and headbands all being the fashion buys of the season.
Cameron Diaz gave us a memorable quiff in her film, There's Something About Mary back in 2000, and we have to admit that's one look we wouldn't like to try!
Being a good sport and all, Cameron has since rocked the quiff in a more stylish way a few times at premieres and looked great.
We're not the biggest fan of the 'styled' quiffs as sported by Sarah Harding recently, as they look too stiff and unnatural for a modern day look. If it's overstyled you'll end up looking like Danny from Grease, rather than a funky Pink Lady.
Roberto Cavalli also featured quiffs on his catwalk for AW08, and along with the Dome Woman trend, it's safe to say that this style is set to stick around until next season too.
To create your quiff, you will need a thin tooth comb, some essential hair grips and tonnes of hairspray. Firstly if you have long hair, a quiff looks best when your hair is tied back into a ponytail.
Separate a small section of your hair at the front of your head and scrape the rest into a ponytail, fixing in place with a thin hair bobble.
Next scoop up your separated piece of hair and using a thin tooth comb, gently start to backcomb your hair, starting from your root to the tip. Repeat the process until your hair can stand to attention unaided.
Fold the hair back so that your quiff is now bent in half and fix in place with some hair grips, preferably the colour of your hair.
Check the quiff looks secure and spritz with lashings of hairspray so it will stay in place, then lightly tease the quiff with your comb again so that it doesn't look too styled.
Finally, use some heated tongs to create a loose curl in your ponytail to complete the 1950s retro look.
