In recent months airbrushing has spurred controversy for some cosmetics companies, but one is campaigning to do away with the touch up entirely.
No7 has pledged to dispense with airbrushing and retouching their models in all advertising campaigns, with the current adverts from the 'Ta-Dah' campaign airing on television last week.
In an attempt to show their consumers the real affects of their new Protect and Perfect anti-ageing technology, the models, all of different ages will be featured without airbrushing or re-touching.
Not only should this be an endorsement to the popular brand, but it should also aim to give real women the confidence boost to know that they can achiever positive results, similar to those women onscreen with the reassurance that they have not been digitally improved or enhanced.
As well as featuring no re-touching the 'Ta-Dah' adverts will use age appropriate models to advertise the products designed for over 50s.
With a bit of luck this may encourage the same from other cosmetics companies. There is not better sell for a product than with the art of instilling self-confidence.
