Much has been said about Mischa Barton's newly skinny frame but the actress herself has now spoken out, putting her weight loss down to Pilates.

Mischa has been snapped looking very skinny with a gaunt face recently, sparking fears for her health but she insists that it is just down to her new exercise routine and she is not starving herself.

Mischa told America's OK magazine: "For me, it's all about Pilates recently. I'm obsessed with Pilates. I think it's so fun."

She added: "I don't do any crash diets. There's nothing that I really do like that, because I'm always working. I mean, before I go do a film, I do workout more. I do get ready for a film and try to be healthy and in shape. And when I'm not working, I do less of it.

"I do more cardio because I work long hours. Jogging, running - stuff like that's really good before you do a film so you have more energy."

We really think that Mischa needs to slow down with the exercise though now. Keeping fit and healthy is one thing but turning yourself into the disappearing woman is quite another.
