Matthew Williamson's Autumn/Winter 12 collection was inspired by Russian artefacts and Faberge eggs.
These were cleary seen in the references to his rich, sparkly fabrics, gem neck lines, sequins and feathers.
Sarah Lucero, Lucero, Creative Director of Global Artistry at Stila Cosmetics, created the beauty looks.
She explains: “This season the fabrics are so rich that the vivid clothes speak for themselves,” said Sarah whilst preparing a model backstage at
Covent Garden’s beautiful Royal Opera House. “That is why we decided to keep the make-up fresh, it is a celebration of youth.”
Matthew says: “We decided, as we always do - less is more. The main thing is that the girl’s own beauty comes through. We wanted the make-up to be very soft matte with a subtle sheen.”
Create the look yourself:
To create this healthy, flawless base Sarah first applied Stila’s Stay All Day 10-in-1 HD Beauty Balm to the skin and used Stila’s Perfecting Concealer, £15.00, to conceal where needed.
A touch of Stila’s Brighten & Correct Concealer, £18.00, was applied under the eyes – these were then “locked-in place” with a little of
Stila’s Hydrating Finishing Powder, £21.00.
Once the base had been applied Sarah applied a touch of the Stila
Convertible Cheek Color in Camellia, £16.00, which she rubbed between her forefinger and thumb to warm slightly, before applying to the contours of the face and above the cheek’s apple.
The same colour was then dabbed onto the lips for a sophisticated nude and demur pout.
Adding a situation to said flawless skin Sarah added a defined brow.
“The Matthew Williamson girl is totally global and modern. One of the key make-up aspects of the show is a beautiful natural look, which is all about the brow,” explains Sarah.
The Brows were defined by applying the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Brow Colour, £13.50, in upward motions.
