Men have never and most probably will never understand fashion. That's fine. We don't need there seal of approval to pick out our latest look, but we don't want to scare them away either.
The same goes for make-up. Some trends just don't make the cut when it comes to going out with a man because they won't understand and depending on where you are actually going it could end up in a disaster. Last seasons purple lips, off limits if your going for food or drinks, it will rub off on the glass or fork and will leave you will just your lips lined in the dark colour, not in the least bit attractive.
I'm here to provide a quick overlook of what make-up looks you should attempt for the big Valentines day plans, whatever they may be.
Avoid lipsticks and wear lip stains. Like I said before they rub off and leave a lined lip, that will no doubt be darker than you natural colour. Not too good if you have a quick kiss either, the colour will rub on you and him, ending in look that closely resembles The Joker. The new wonder product for coloured lips on a date has to be Max Factor Lipfinity lip tint pens, they stain the colour on and there is no chance of the moving. The colour didn't transfer on to glasses when I was drinking either. Bonus.
Avoid super long, extra thick false lashes instead, wear individual extensions. There is nothing worse than when the corner of the eyelash starts to peel. You've forgotten the glue and it would be nothing short of a disaster to peel the whole thing off. Where have the beautifully opened eyes gone? Instead opt for individuals, if they peel away it's fine, there is only one coming off, not the whole thing. A lot less noticeable. Plus you can build them up for a natural looking eye, you want a sexy flutter that will make your eyes look seductive.
Avoid kohl pencils and wear liquid or gel eyeliners. I love a good and dramatic smoky eye. But it smudges and when your eyes water it runs and looks a little less like a smoky eye and more of a black and bruised one. Whether you being proposed to, watching a sad movie or just overwhelmed by the romantic stuff the other half has prepared, make sure that your are prepared with your waterproof eyeliner. You will be thankful you do when you wake up the next morning.
Avoid super long talons. Nothing screams 'witch' more than a set of false, darkly painted nails. A lot of people opt for false nails, because they are not the biggest fan of there sometimes brittle nails. But you have to people careful not to over step the mark and enter the claw look. Long, oval shapes are key for this season and bright nail varnish is what we will all definitely be wearing this summer, so start early and wear a colour that will clash with your outfit.
Avoid a styled hair do. Okay, all hair is styled, but what you want to convey here is the sexy 'I just got out of bed and look like this' look. Nothing says to try-hard than hair that doesn't move an inch, even when you whip your head back and forth. So try loose styles, with gentle curls and maybe some pieces clipped back. You want it so hands can be run easily through the hair and not get caught in a bed of sticky hairspray.
