A consumer poll  has shown that almost half (47 per cent) of Brits do not think about eating a diet rich in antioxidants when it comes to protecting their skin. Additionally, over three quarters

(78 per cent) of UK adults do not drink the recommended eight glasses of water a day, which can also help keep their skin healthy.

A diet rich in antioxidants helps protect the body from the damaging effects of free radicals caused by pollution and smoke, and play a role in helping maintain skin health. 

High factor sun protection is also needed to protect the skin from the sun’s harmful rays. "Feed your skin from the inside out with a healthy diet and plenty of water. Make sure that you eat at least five portions of fruit and vegetables a day to boost levels of skin-protecting antioxidants such as beta-carotene, vitamin C and vitamin E. Remember that fresh, frozen, canned, dried, 100% juice and smoothies all count towards your daily five."
