With the remake of the F. Scott Fitzgerald classic, The Great Gatsby, heading to the big screen in 2012, not to mention it's influence in this year's fashion - we have all completely fallen in love with anything 1920s.
The art deco trend has been one of the most popular party looks this season with everyone from Katy Perry, Jessie J and most recently, the cast of Made in Chelsea showing off the 20s in all its decadent glory.
ghd Creative Director and Session Stylist, Kenna shows off some quick and simple ways as to how to bring this classic look into your own style this year, helping you to recreate the timeless fingerless curls and all the glitter slides and feathers you can imagine.
ghd held its own 20s evening - here's how to get the looks.
Step 1:
To create volume to your hair use ghd Style Total Volume Foam on wet hair and evenly apply ghd Style Heat Protect Spray to guard your hair from heat.
Step 2:
To add texture and extra volume dry your hair with the ghd air hairdryer lifting at the roots with a large bristle brush (the ghd natural bristle radial brush (size 4) is perfect for this). The Total Volume Foam will react with the heat from ghd air and become huge!
Step 3:
Use the finger pin curl technique on the top of the hair, (wrap 2cm squares of hair round a finger, release finger keeping hair in a coil, then heat the coil with the ghd Scarlet styler) and watch a beautiful finger wave appear. For larger waves follow the step above (wrapping 3 – 4cm squares of hair round a finger instead), then shake your head from side to side letting the waves fall naturally.
Step 4
Finish the look with a 1920s hair piece and spray over your hair with ghd Style Final Fix for hold and gloss.
