Spring is fast approaching and so are the new beauty looks, which are set to take the high-street by storm. Today we're looking at the 'Glamazon' trend, which was featured heavily on the catwalk for spring.
Fashion is often influenced by some of the key beauty looks being tested for the season, and this is certainly true with the Glamazon look for spring/summer 09.
Louis Vuitton, Alexander Wang and Rodarte used Glamazon beauty to compliment their collections, describing the trend as feminine but with a hard edge.
Heavily lidded eyes and bright red lips were the key features of the Glamazon trend on the runway, as slick and polished beauty looks dominated the designer's collections.
It also crosses paths with the 80s beauty looks too, with the dominant female who is very work orientated and in control of her own style and look.
Slicked back hair and perfect make-up with no smudges is what this beauty trend is all about, in other words- perfection. While your fashion sense may be a bit more laid back, this is all about high maintenance glamour.
To achieve this look yourself, focus on making your lips look as perfectly applied as possible. Use a matte based lipstick in ruby red and take care to not smudge the application, as this will ruin the look.
Next, your eyes need to look alive, fresh, and above all expensive! Focus on using a mascara that will really open up your eyes and lengthen your lashes to give a wide-eyed look.
Of course, this is a power look so wide-eyed innocence is not something you want to keep, so next apply lashings of eyeliner to your upper and lower lid, taking it right underneath your lower lash line.
Lastly, slick back your hair into a low ponytail, taking care not to leave any wispy bits on display; the idea is pure perfection, so not a hair out of place should be visible.
