The start of a new year is a perfect opportunity to try out something new, and dieting is no exception. Apparently people are becoming increasingly conscious about the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle, with nearly 8 in 10 of us planning to eat more healthily in 2009.
According to reports which revealed attitudes towards making New Yearâs resolutions, eating more healthily is the most popular pledge for 2009. This is closely followed by taking up more exercise and joining the gym.
The study by Uncle Benâs revealed that 37% of people would be encouraged to try healthy food if it tasted good and fell within their meal budget. Whereas 26% consider convenience to be the most important factor, and would be more likely to eat healthy food if it was quick to prepare.
However, it seems a lot of us out are even doubtful about the chances of keeping resolutions, with over half not expecting to keep their New Yearâs resolutions at all. Shockingly nearly 29% never really intend to keep their resolutions in the first place.
Life Coach and Psychotherapist Christine Webber, comments: 'The beginning of any year is a landmark time and many of us decide to make a positive change to our life. The answer is to make resolutions that are realistic and that can be carried out and achieved in a step-by-step way'
Eating healthier may be the top of a lot of people's lists in 2009, so if you're struggling still with your New Years resolution why not give it go.
