The cosmetic industry is under threat because of the lack of honeybees in production, according to new reports.
British honeybees are apparently dying out, with numbers having dropped by 80% in some areas and this may negatively impact on our favourite cosmetics.
Almost 4000 of the nation's favourite cosmetics are reportedly under threat, including a whopping 589 brands of lipsticks, 643 brands of mascara and at least 453 moisturisers, according to the Co-operative Group.
Apparently with the lack of bees, there will be a knock-on effect of beeswax being produced, which is often found in a wide amount of beauty and cosmetic products.
In response to this, the Co-operative have launched a campaign to save the honeybee, named Plan Bee, which encourages people to get outside and plant to help keep bees thriving.
Paul Monaghan, the Co-operative's Head of Social Goals told Marie Claire: "Nature's number one pollinating machine appears to be breaking down and no one knows for sure why.
"The great thing, though, is that we can all do our bit to turn things around," he added.
