FemaleFirst's Countdown to a Credit-Crunch Christmas has begun. It might seem a bit early but if you want to fit into your gorgeous dress for those parties there's no time like the present to start your fitness regime.
We've looked at Wii Fit and basic fitness solutions and today we're going to investigate celebrity fitness DVDs.
We look to celebrities for our inspiration for hair, make up and clothes so why not for exercise too. After all, they spend so much time being scrutinised under the public eye they know a thing or two about looking good.
When pictures of a bikini wearing Natalie Cassidy emerged after she lost two and a half stone, everyone was amazed. Frumpy Sonia from Eastenders was looking slim and sexy. So when her workout DVD, 'Natalie Cassidy's Then & Now Workout', hit the shops, impressed with Natalie's transformation and, shoppers snapped it up and the DVD topped the celeb chart.
It is a hard work out as you are constantly moving and sweating but surely that's a good thing if you're wanting to shed the pounds! the moves aren't too complicated so you can easily pick them up. The only bad thing are Natalie's constant talking, but after enough practices you'll know the moves and can hit the mute button!
Ok, so Kate Lawler may not be an A List celebrity at the moment but this DVD, 'Kate's Cardio Combat', is one hell of a work out and you've got to admit Kate had an enviable figure when she left the Big Brother house, way back in 2002!
This DVD has a boxing slant to it, to make sure you tone your arms as well as your tum and legs. It's certainly high energy but stick at it and you'll see results. Remember the harder you work, the better you'll look.
If you want something really intense then look for Nell McAndrew's 'Cardio, Core And Stretch' DVD. This girl knows exercise, in fact she is exercise! This is quite a challenging workout, almost like bootcamp, but if you stick with it two or three times a week it will improve your fitness levels and body shape.
These DVD's are a good investment buy as a one off DVD purchase will save you more than a gym membership or weekly exercise classes. Plus if you buy them now they're bound to be cheaper than after Christmas when the rush is on to shed the holiday pounds!
