Pictures of Tara Reid in The Sun today show the actress flashing her cellulite dimpled bum on the beach. While this might not be good news for Tara it gives hope to the rest of us if even celebrities suffer!
It's not surprising that Tara and other celebrities such as Mischa Barton and Jerry Hall suffer from cellulite as it affects 90% of women.
If supporting tissue in the body becomes inflexible, through a poor supply of oxygen and blood, fat cells become trapped and cellulite gets its lumpy, orange peel, appearance.
Leading a healthy lifestyle is the first key to getting rid of cellulite. Ditching toxins such as alcohol, cigarettes and coffee can help as they may restrict the blood vessels and blood supply, therefore making body tissue inflexible.
Junk food also causes a similar problem as it can cause a build up of cholesterol on blood vessel walls which restricts the blood flow. Try eating foods such as chickpeas, soyabeans and peas which contain saponin, a nutrient which can lower the cholesterol that clogs blood vessels. The less clogged blood vessels are, the stronger your blood supply will be and the more flexible your supporting tissue.
Berries are also great for improving blood flow as they contain an antioxidant called anthocyanins.
If you already suffer the orange peel effect there are some great cellulite busting exercises you can try.
p>Lie flat on your tummy, with your head resting on your arms. Slowly left your leg up, keeping your hip on the floor. Hold it for five seconds then rest, you should feel your hamstring stretch. Try doing 20 of these alternating legs.
There is another style of leg raise you can do, this time lying on your side. Place your knees in front of you, bent at a 90 degree angle. Then straighten your top leg and lift it of the ground, hold and then slowly bring it back down. Do ten of these before swapping legs for another 10.
Also try squats as these are good for your leg muscles.
Bend your legs at the knees, lowering your body between the legs and gently stand up straight. Keep your back straight and do not bounce.
Follow these tips and soon you'll have a dimple free bum and legs that any celeb would be envious of.
