Save: Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Lip Balm SPF 15
I have so much love for this product. True to Palmer’s it had that lovely cocoa buttery smell and it has that lovely silky feel when applied to the lips. One great selling point of the product for me was that it was matte, something I think is important in a lip balm as you don’t always want a glossy lip. As well as being aesthetically pleasing it actually does the job! It instantly smoothed my lips and I could really feel it sinking in. Also, it didn’t need reapplying for hours as it kept my lips supple and soft. The packaging isn’t the most appealing I’ve ever seen but for £1.79 you really can’t argue, and I’d much rather pay for the product over the packaging!
Splurge: Trilogy Rosehip Oil Lip Balm
It was a real toss-up this week between these lip balms, I love them both for different reasons. This one was great when applied because it left a lovely tingling feeling on my lips, most likely due to the peppermint and combination of herbs in the balm. This lip balm did leave a slight gloss on the lip, which is great if you prefer that. It isn’t too glossy or harsh, just a subtle sheen so can look great when going for the natural look. It smoothed my lips but it didn’t feel it sunk in as much as the Palmer’s lip balm, it seems to sit on my lips a little more rather than sink in. However, it did keep my lips soft, it just required a little more regular application. You can get yours for £10.50 from Boots.
