Lea Michele stunned with her thigh-high split

Lea Michele stunned with her thigh-high split

Thigh-high splits were a big trend at last night's Golden Globes awards and the stars who strutted their stuff on the red carpet had flawless legs on show.

Rosie Hungtinton-Whiteley, Eva Longoria, Heidi Klum and Lea Michele all put there best leg forward and looked super sexy doing it too.

Venus and Braun Beauty Therapist Nathalie Eleni reveals how you too can create thigh-high split worthy pins, alongside her tips on how to achieve some of the hottest beauty trends as witnessed on last night’s red carpet.

Nathalie says…

Thigh High Splits

  • When revealing this much leg, you don’t want to be caught on camera with a hair out of place, so start by achieving smooth, hair free skin. The key here is to invest a bit more time in your hair removal prep by using the Braun Silk-épil 7 Epilator. This is the perfect tool for long-lasting hair removal, gently removing hair directly from the root as short as a 0.5mm and ideal for back-to-back red carpet events during the busy awards season. For any last minute touch ups on the night, I always make sure I carry a Venus razor in my kit bag.
  • As the full leg is the focus here, take the time to concentrate on your knees, exfoliating them to remove dry skin and ensuring you use a rich body cream to prevent any gray tinges or discolouration.
  • Once your skin is suitably soft, achieve a beautiful glow with a base colour of self-tan all over the body. I prefer using a subtle, self-tanning mousse which can be easily applied with little or no fuss at all.
  • Next, to help create the illusion of beautifully long, celeb-worthy legs, use a gold-based illuminating cream. Massage from the top of your legs, down to the shins to lengthen the appearance and enhance their shape. Blending in a radiance mousse is fantastic for adding extra colour to legs during the evening. Always blend gently and work around the contours of the legs.
  • As your thighs will be on show, hide any imperfections by dabbing on some concealer and finish with a light dusting of bronzer. Go for a soft, shimmery powder that is couple of shades darker than your natural skin colour. Use a lighter coloured shimmer for your shins, dusting gently down the front of your legs for a celebrity sheen.
  • Don’t forget your feet! The red carpet was filled with stunning open toe heels and for this look I would always recommend going for a bright pop of red to compliment pale skin or a subtle beige or nude colour if your skin has a more olive tone.

Nude Fish Tails

  • The nude fishtail gowns looked beautiful next to unblemished, pale skin tones. To perfect this look, avoid self-tan and use a gradual tanner instead. Further emphasise with a sweeping of bronzer across the collarbone and shoulders and a touch of shimmer to create a beautifully feminine finish.
