Matching nails and lips are one of the hottest trends this season, they were featured heavily on the Spring/Summer runways and we couldn't be happier.
Introduced in the early 1950s as a sign of sophistication among women, neatly manicured red nails and a matching red lip were not only coveted then, but it’s now one of the hottest trends this season.
Whilst some may think it's too matchy-matchy we absolutely love it and don't worry if you don't like bold, bright red lips, you can wear other shades too.
Dior and Jean Paul Gaultier opted for the classic red, with neatly manicured square-round nails. But Donna Karan went for a deep burgundy colour. Skin was kept flawless and went sans blusher and bronzer to make sure that the colour stood out on it's own.
Loewe incorporated two trends in one and used matching lips and nails in a wine colour, but didn't use lipstick but a stained tint. Perfect if you're going out to eat or drink as the colour lasts much longer.
Giorgio Armani chose the easiest colour and opted for beige nails with a matching neautral lip. Perfect for everyday wear and even the evening, dress it up by pairing it with the smoky effect eye.
Thanks to this trend hitting the runway, plenty of beauty brands of jumped on the trend too, making it a lot easier for us to go matchy-matchy.
We love Leighton Denny's Lip Dual wand which features both lipstick and stain for two different looks, you can easily match the colours to the nail range too.
MAC also matched their lipsticks, nail colours and lipglosses, again just choose the colour that suits you best.
NARS, Dior, Butter London and Dolce and Gabbana have all too created ranges so you can easily buy into the trend too.
