When Lady GaGa stepped out with lilac lips a few weeks ago we were a little skeptical to say the least but with Peaches Geldof now testing the look and Zac Posen, Jonathan Saunders and Blugirl taking it on the catwalk maybe we were wrong and a purple pout is the hot new look.
The shade is a nice alternative to bright red if you're trying to make a bold statement with your lips and pastel hues are perfect for the spring/summer season.
If you're going to try this look go for a very simple base, no blusher or bronzer, you want to keep all eyes on your lips.
Use a matte lipstick in a purple shade. You don't have to go for lilac any purple shade will work. We love Rimmel's Lasting Finish Intense Wear Lipstick in Amethyst Shimmer
Sweep a light shade off lilac eye shadow over the sockets of your eyes and then smudge a darker shade under your bottom lashes. Put on a few layers of jet black mascara. The contrast between the dark lashes and light colour will have a real dramatic effect.
You might not feel brave enough for this look right now but trust us, come August everyone will be wearing it!
