Amy Winehouse and her trademark beehive
Over the past few months the beehive has become the last word in hair styles and the only look to be seen sporting. The style pioneered by Amy Winehouse has become a celebrity favourite with stars like Eva Mendes and Angelina Jolie trying the look.
Our favourite take on this style is a low beehive on top of the head, with the lengths gathered in a slick ponytail from the nape of the neck.
While it looks great it is not the most simple look to re-create but don't worry, FemaleFirst is here to talk you through it and hold your hand!
The style is easier to re-create with day old hair, freshly washed will not stay put as easily. You want lots of lift to get a really sexy look so get back-combing girls! Make a side parting and then start backcombing the roots, making sure most of the lift is at the crown of your head, and then smooth a layer of hair over the bee-hive to give it a look that is more tousled than messy. Spray some hairspray on for extra hold.
Tease the sides round to the back of your head. You might want to use grips to keep the sides in place and pull the ends into a low ponytail, but don't pull to tight - you don't want to pull the roots flat.
