After a great night out celebrating New Years, chances are you're waking up with a pounding headache, bloodshot eyes and a puffy face. To beat the hangover signs here are FemaleFirst's top tips to looking great after the night before.
Drinking lots of water is key to looking great post any late night and alcohol. Alcohol dehydrates the skin, so the best tip is drink plenty of water before bedtime.
If you're really dedicated, experts have claimed that drinking a glass of water in between each alcoholic beverage will keep you looking fresh in the morning. But for everyone else, we advise that before bed always remove all traces of make-up and apply lots of moisturiser to rehydrate the skin and cleanse.
For puffy skin, cold tea bags will do the trick. Soak a couple of caffeinated bags in cool water and apply them to the skin, this should tone the face.
To also sooth the face, try a cooling facial mask. Leaving it in the fridge overnight will create an ultra refreshing mask for in the morning.
Try not to put any make-up on following a big night out, but if its necessary it can hide a multitude of hangover sins.
Don't apply matte foundation, as this will dry out the skin. Instead apply some concealer to the under eye to lighten any dark bags.
To brighten the face dot a touch of highlighter below the brows, on the cheekbones and on the inner corners of the eyes to make for wide-eyes and fresh faced.
Finally, curl the lashes and use an extra-curling mascara to look wide-awake.
Follow these tips and no-one will ever know you're suffering from a New Years hangover.
