She speaks to us about her own technique, her winter beauty regime and the products she couldn't live without....
You've been named, numerous times, one of the UK's leading beauty therapists - so what is it that you do differently?
I'm extremely fussy, I like to take every hair off. If I'm doing waxing, every hair has to come off. If I'm doing an eyebrow shape, the shape has to be perfect. If I'm doing a facial, I have to make sure that the blackheads are out and the clients are clean and relaxed before they leave.
If I accept to do a duty, then I must make sure that I do it properly or I won't do it.
And when I use products, they're good quality products I just don't use cheap products. I always say: People pay for a service, they have to get every pennies worth. My clients have been with me for 27 years now, so I do the mother, the grandmother and the grandchild, a three generation family.
As we go into winter, what changes do you make to your beauty regime?
Years ago the treatments in summer and winter were totally different. Summer we done waxing, manicures and pedicures because you were wearing clothes that were exposing your legs, your arms and you would wear flip flops. And in winter time because we were putting on weight, we used to do body wraps, slimming treatments because we used to eat a lot of cakes and drink lots at Christmas time and also for the Christmas parties people wanted to look better, so these treatments were the favourable thing to do.
Now, in winter, you can go fours hours on the plane and you'll be in a summer place, so all year round people want to be groomed. Because people have access to the sun all year round, you do everything all year round now. You don't have to wait till summer to have your legs waxed.
What three beauty products couldn't you live without?
Eye cream. Since I was a kid I remember when I used to go to the salon with my mum. The beauticians used to say to my mum: 'Make sure that you put your eye cream on'. I've used eye cream since I was 20 and now I'm 48 and I don't have any lines around my eyes, so eye cream is a must.
Because I'm Uranian and I have dark hair, I have to have my hair removed, regularly waxed or I used to do electrolysis and with some areas I've done laser. I have waxes on my legs. laser bikini and underarm and electrolysis on my face. With the wax, we use our own wax which is from Australia, but if I'm away and don't have one of the waxing machines with me, I use the Veet Easy to Grip strips. They've changed it, I even told the company that I wasn't happy with the previous ones. For once myself and other salons have a competitor.
It's my SPF that I can't live without. SPF is really important, as you get older and if you've been on the pill for a long time or you have liver problems or you've had kids or if you have Olive in your skin, you can get pigments in your face. Europeans usually suffer with broken capillaries and dark skin gets pigments, so I wear my SPF cream all-year round. I don't wait for summer or if I'm on holiday, if you've got a tinted one then you don't need to worry about foundation. You put your eye cream and you put your tinted SPF on.
If you only had three minutes to do your make-up in the morning, what would be essential to do?
I do it in thirty seconds. If I have three minutes I can look like a bride, I can look like Amy Childs.
