Alexa Chung

Alexa Chung

Alexa Chung is not only a style icon in our eyes, but a beauty icon too. Her look is certainly quirky and that's what we love about her. She's got the rock and roll clothes, the oh-so hip shaggy bob cut and the perfect skin with smoky eyes combo down to perfection.

Here's how to replicate that gorgeous glow...

Foundation

Start by using a sponge to apply your chosen foundation, because it gives you a more even coverage and allows you to blend more easily. Alexa has perfect skin, no doubt a result of her model days, and so if you want to achieve her look then be prepared to spend time getting it right; start with your skin type and work around that.

Clinique have a great range of foundations to suit different skin types, starting at around £16.50 or if that's a bit pricey look at Rimmel's great range of renew and lift foundations for £7.99.

Powder

Apply powder lightly over your foundation using either a pad that comes with it, or a brush. Opt for a oil-free option that will help prevent shine breakthrough. 17 have a great version for £3.29 and is silky smooth.

Mascara

Alexa is all about understated glamour, so keep it simple with a lengthening wand that will separate and define lashes. Boots No7 range have just brought out their 360 lash mascara for £11.50, or for a bargain buy try Natural Collection Lash Curl for just £1.99.

Blush

To create her dewy complexion, opt for a cream blush rather than a powder, because again it blends better and gives a more natural look. The virtually undisputed option out there is Maybelline's dream mousse blush for £5.99, but check out other options that act as a shimmer glow, such as Collection 2000 and their shimmer stick for £2.49.

Eyeliner

Keep it simple with a liquid eyeliner, rather than a pencil as it's less likely to smudge. Collection 2000 have a bargain fast stroke eyeliner for £2.99 if you don't fancy splashing out, or if you do want to treat yourself, check out Diorliner for a whopping £19.50.

Lipstick

Alexa very rarely wears anything other than baby pink on her lips, unless perhaps it's a premier and she wants to glam it up with gorgeous red. Lipstick is making a comeback as well, after years of lip gloss being the prime choice. Lipstick is classier and it doesn't stick to your hair as much, so it's a clear winner for this look, as Alexa is all about looking perfect, without looking like she's tried. Try Borjois Brille Lipstick in Pink, £6.95.
