Ryan Gosling

Ryan Gosling just has something irresistible about him. With his beautiful eyes and rugged features any woman who has watched hit film The Notebook has no doubt imaged herself in the role of Allie, jumping into his arms and kissing passionately in the rain. He first got our pulses racing as bad boy Richard Haywood in Murder By Numbers, then appealed to our romantic side in The Notebook. Now he takes on roles with such intensity we see how he earned the title of 2004 ShoWest Male Star of Tomorrow. Ryan was born in Ontario, Canada in 1980 and first performed as a singer at talent contests with his older sister Mandi. It was by chance that he attended an open audition in Montreal for the TV series The Mickey Mouse Club in January 1993, and beat out 17,000 other aspiring actors for a spot on the show. While appearing on MMC for two years, he lived with co-star Justin Timberlake’s family.Surprisingly Ryan has had no formal acting training yet has won several prestigious awards. He first attracted serious critical attention with his performance as the Jewish anti-Semite in the controversial film The Believer, which was the Grand Jury Prize winner at the 2001 Sundance Film Festival. As well as being named one of ‘Fifty Hottest Bachelors’, by People Magazine he also received an Academy Award Nomination for Best Actor for his performance in 2006 film ‘Half Nelson’.Ryan recently sparked rumours of an engagement to long term love Rachel McAdams after they were seen ring shopping together in LA. Him and his Notebook co star started dating after filming had ended, sparking The Notebook director Nick Cassavettes to say he was surprised to see the two together following their on-set arguing. But the happy couple went on to win Best Kiss Award at the 2005 MTV Awards where they reenacted the smoldering kiss for a welcoming audience. His most recent performance has been in Fracture, an intense thriller starring Anthony Hopkins and at present he is working on Peter Jackson’s screen adaptation of The Lovely Bones. Despite such praise throughout his short career he has managed to remain firmly on the ground, saying, ‘for now, I'm just going to keep doing the work I do and hope I don't get fired. If people want to put me up on their walls, I'll love it.’So will we Ryan!
