1. Ditch the carriers

It’s the most obvious starting point - stop using single use plastic carrier bags. Purchasing a reusable shopping bag and keeping it in the boot of your car will save you 5p every trip to the supermarket and contribute to saving the planet.

2. Stop asking for a straw

You’re stood at the bar, you’ve just ordered a drink, and you ask ‘can I have a straw?’

You can help to save the world one plastic straw at a time - they’ll be gone in the U.K soon so why not just stop now?

3. Buy a reusable water bottle

This applies to coffee cups to. If you could see how many bottles and single use coffee cups you went through in a week, what would it look like? Probably quite bad. You might recycle but why not just avoid it all together?

4. Walk to nearby destinations

Rather than going to the shops in the car, why not just run, walk or cycle? If it’s within a mile or two, travel by foot!

5. Cut down on meat

You don’t have to go full vegan - but if everyone had a meat-free day once or twice or week, the world would likely be a better place!

6. Recycle

It’s the most obvious one - but recycle! It’s so easy. Being more cautious about what can go in the green bin is a great, simple way to help the world.

7. Have a compost bin

And for the stuff you can’t recycle… make a compost bin!
