We often forget that our cars need cleaning and decluttering too. Just because it’s outside of the home doesn’t mean it should be excluded from the special treatment of the paring down process. So here are some quick wins when it comes to tidying it up.
Rubbish
Take a bag and clear out anything that’s is clearly trash. Old take out containers, drinks bottles and chocolate bar wrappers are some of the usual offenders. Your car is not a bin so don’t treat it like one.
Car parking tickets
If you have a stash of parking tickets- get rid of them now into the recycling bin. We’ve already established your car is not a bin, but it is not a filing cabinet either.
Old road maps
If your atlas is out of date, it’s time to ditch the old an invest in a new one. They are inexpensive and will keep you up to date with any changes to the roads.
Anything that’s broken
Perhaps you have a broken scraper or a cracked spare bulb in your glove compartment. If so- its time to get rid as it’s either dangerous or ineffective.
Old window stickers
Maybe you had a membership to somewhere last year that you didn’t continue or a sticker on your window to permit you into a car park at work and are no longer employed there. If so, it’s time to take them off and give that glass a good clean.
Ash tray detritus
Your car’s ash tray seems to become a dumping ground for all sorts of miscellaneous items- pens, money, bobby pins, vouchers- you name it- as long as it’s small enough, it’s probably been tossed in there. If you have a tray full of trinkets- tidy it up and give it a good wipe out afterwards.
Old smellies
If every time you buy a new car smell, you sling the old one on the floor or on the backseat, now is the time to look under the seats and car mats and make sure you’ve got them all.
