Where do you get your inspiration from when designing pieces and how did you inspire the young designers for the Kleenex boxes?

Home and Garden on Female First

I get inspiration for my designs wherever I go. I find it in the streets of London, on my travels, meeting new people and being introduced to new cultures. Pretty much everywhere I go. To help inspire the young designers for Kleenex, I gave them a small brief and told them to go out into the world and look around. The rest of the inspiring designs were down to them.

Why did you want to get involved with this Kleenex project?

I work a lot with the Princes Trust and am truly passionate about helping young entrepreneurs so when I was approached by Kleenex I was very excited. It gave me a chance to help inspire the young designers of today's generation and to help them create something wonderful.

How important are the small touches when decorating your home?

Extremely. Little personal touches like art work, photographs, family trinkets are a vital piece of the final product - they are what makes the house a home.

What are you favourite home trends for this year?

They are too many to choose from however I am loving antique pieces at the moment. Also lacquer finishes on furniture such as table consoles. This years trends are all about colour and shape. Colors like purples, pinks and aubergine are going to be big and mixing shapes with traditional pieces of furniture will also be popular.

How can we revamp a room with a small budget?

Change the small things. The materials and textures are always the easiest thing to change around. Why not re hang your curtains in a new material or change the colour of your cushions on your sofa? Buy a new rug or a new piece of art to create a new focal point. Change the colour scheme in the room by using new accessories such as vases, candles or flowers.

What are your tips for decorating for Christmas?

I love Christmas! Why not create a great runner for the dinner table on Christmas Day? I like to use traditional colours such as silver along with foliage to create a simple yet stunning centerpiece runner. This year I am also thinking about looking for a great fake Christmas tree – there is nothing more disappointing then putting your tree up on the 1st of December and it being limp and lifeless by the time Christmas Day arrives however you always need a great tree in the home, decorating it is the best part!
