Celia Sawyer answers more of your interior and decorating questions with advice and tips on everything from the colour of pain to furniture and so much more.
Dear Celia, Where do I get a chair like yours in your photo from? I really like them and I know my teenage son would like one in his bedroom.
Is it too big for a bedroom, as he has plenty of room in there, and has a large window we can hang this in front of?
I presume you mean the Aarnio Eero perspex bubble chair? There are many copies of these on the market now, and make a great design piece for any room.
Sizes are around 1 metre diameter.
Can you help me on sofas? I don’t know where to start and really want a nice L shape in my flat. I saw one in a local shop but it was so big that I wouldn’t be able to fit it in the room. Is there anywhere I can order something made to measure? Karen.
Hi Karen, yes email me [email protected] we make our own furniture range and can make your sofa to fit perfectly, and it wont break the bank!
Hi Celia I am going to have a go at changing the colours in my living room. I'd love to employ you and your company but I wouldn’t be able to afford you! Can you advise me how to start?
I am struggling with knowing what comes first, do I choose carpets, walls etc? Its not an easy job is it!! Ta Sally X
Dear Sally, I always create a mood board for this. Its really helpful so that you can see how the design will work. Choose your dominant colour and if you already have a floor colour you are not changing then find a sample the same or very similar to this and lay them out and pin/stick them on a A1 sized foam board.
You can then start adding samples of wall colours taken from charts, sofa fabrics, woods tiles etc. You will be able to see what does and doesn’t work this way, and can also add your accessories such as cushion colours. Its also good fun to create and you ll be surprised how your mind will change whilst using this process. Good luck!
