SEIZE THE DAY!

One in ten would catch up on housework

With a day off work to do whatever they wanted, over a third of Brits (26 per cent) said they would most like to spend their time doing a thrill seeking activity.

Men were found to be the biggest thrill seekers with 28 per cent stating their ideal day off would be packed with exciting experiences such as Ferrari driving or quad biking, though women weren’t far behind at 25 per cent. Regionally it was those in the North East who were found to be the most adventurous with almost half (48 per cent) choosing to fill up their free time with activities.

Taking time to relax was the most popular pastime for both men and women at 52 per cent and 55 per cent respectively. Those in the South West were the most likely to choose to spend a day off relaxing at a spa or doing nothing at home (66 per cent), closely followed by those in the North West (63 per cent).

However, the urge to spend time away from work catching up on cleaning the house was too hard to resist for one in ten women (10 per cent) compared to seven per cent of men. The biggest cleaners in the UK are in the east of England where a massive 26 per cent of people said they would most like to spend a day off doing domestic chores.

The research was conducted to coincide with the launch of ‘MoneySupermarket Local Deals’ a new section of the price comparison website offering consumers huge discounts of up to 90 per cent on a range of products and experiences in major cities across the UK.
