When children were asked to draw their perfect home, as part of a competition, it seemed obvious that many of them would opt for a house made of sweets, or a pool.
But kids were also revealed to have environmental concerns at the front of their minds.
94% of the 600 children surveyed said they recycle at home, and eight out ten said they would like to do more for the environment from home.
The survey was part of BIC®’s national BIC® Picture drawing competition, where children are asked to draw their dream home.
Some of the stranger demands by kids were more than a quarter wanting a house made of sweets, and 17 percent would have a slide instead of stairs.
Children's illustrator Sue Hendra is a judge for the competition, and she designed the 'ultimate house' for children, based on the findings. She said: “I’ve always loved drawing and I think it’s a fantastic way that kids can develop their creativity and collate their thoughts and feelings. It’s very expressive.
"It’s been a wonderful challenge to take BIC UK’s research findings and creatively interpret the imaginative dream houses of a young British generation. Based on the results, I would say we have a very creative and thoughtful generation growing up right now!”
