Kelly Hoppen MBE has created a contemporary kitchen collection iconic British luxury furniture maker, in monochrome colours, but with a stylish twist. Kelly's famous 'East-meets-West' mentality can be seen in many of her pieces, including a dresser which features an optional marble pastry slab or a sunken bowl for flowers.
A globally renowned designer, Kelly Hoppen started her business at the age of sixteen, and has been named GRAZIA Designer of the Year. She was awarded an MBE for services to interior design in 2009.
Kelly Hoppen MBE said: "I created a palette of colours and textures that can be layered, so it doesn’t look ‘hard’ and functional. Whether you go with one look or combine textures it all works, whether you like an urban, cool edgy feel or a softer, lighter tone.
"The expertise and technical detail of the team at Smallbone have made my ambitions reality and it has been a pleasure to work with them.”
Kelly is also set to launch the new Pearl 75 yacht she has designed at this year’s Southampton Boat Show (14-23rd September 2012), in association with Pearl Motor Yachts, one of the UK’s leading luxury yacht builders.
The yacht boasts a Jet Ski garage, an open-plan galley, a conservatory style glass roof, as well as the option of operating the yacht without crew if preferred. Kelly has brought her classic use of texture and famed neutral colour scheme to the interior of the Pearl 75.
Commenting ahead of the launch Kelly enthused “My aim with this exciting project was to instil a feeling of sanctuary in the Pearl 75, so it was perfect to use my East meets West philosophy. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Pearl 75 team and I’m thrilled with the results. I’m really looking forward to unveiling the Pearl 75 at the Southampton Boat Show.”
