Ever wanted to give an old piece of furniture a new lease of life?
A new business start up, joannamurray.co.uk is set to restore old armchairs and sofa’s using traditional upholstery methods and fabrics from famous British designers.
Mum of two, Joanna Murray from Knutsford, Cheshire set the business up after restoring a Victorian nursing chair for her first child’s bedroom.
After restoring a few pieces for friends and family, Joanna has now made it a full time job and sells exclusively through her website www.joannamurray.co.uk. All pieces produced are one off’s with a strong traditional and British theme. Fabrics and designs on restored pieces have so far included Emily Bond and Suzie Watson.
Joanna said: “Finding a new piece of furniture for your home which is different from the rest is often hard and time consuming as we all lead such busy lives. Which is why I think giving an old piece of furniture a new lease of life, rather than buying new, is such a good idea.”
Prices range from £500 - £1500.
