Rachel has teamed up with Logitech's Global Graffiti Collection to provide you these simple, inexpensive tips and ideas on how to best customise your home this year.

  • Be creative

Unleash your unique style by being creative and imaginative. Think about whether you can re-use existing objects or furniture in new ways, or whether items could be revamped through painting, covering or adapting them. Upcycling is a really popular way of customising your home and perfect if you want to show off your personal style.

  • Keep it simple

Home personalisation doesn’t have to be elaborate or involve extensive decorating. Sometimes the simplest of changes can be highly effective. Try using wall stickers to decorate a wall, piece of furniture or door in your home. Wall stickers are widely available, in a great choice of designs, and can be a funky and effective way of livening up your interior décor.

  • Transform a bare wall

Hang a wall art collage on it. Choose memorable family snaps, your children’s art or favourite pictures and group them together in one large multi-frame, or your choice of individual frames clustered together.

  • Think small

Even the smallest of spaces can be personalised with your style. Liven up a windowsill with a collection of coloured glass or a group of three favourite accessories.

  • Make the most of working from home

Design your workspace how you want it to be. Cover your office chair in a funky fabric, paint your desk in your favourite colour and choose files and storage options in patterned designs. Hang your favourite picture on the wall, or use a quote wall sticker above your desk to help aid motivation.

Rachel Newcombe, founder and editor of Fresh Design Blog says: “The personalisation trend has become a major design statement. Surrounding yourself with things that you’ve designed can be incredibly uplifting and empowering whether that’s the clothes you’re in, or the room you’re sitting in. It gives you a strong sense of achievement so you can say “Yes, I did that”.”
