Pippa’s tips for a Scandinavian Christmas

One of the on-trend looks this Christmas is the Scandinavian theme which features a palette of pale greys, creams, greens and seasonal reds. For an authentic effect choose a selection of Nordic style decorations such as Scandinavian style stockings and baubles, berry wreaths, fairy lights and painted metal birdcages.

If you don’t have room for a real tree or fancy something different, why not create a “wow” feature wall by hanging your fairy lights in a Christmas tree design. The 3M Command Clear Decorating Clips are perfect for small fairy light cords as they really blend into the background so that all you see are the twinkling lights.

To create this special effect, work out where on the wall you need to position the clips, then attach them following the instructions on the packet and simply weave the string of lights back and forth in a zigzag motion, hooking the lights onto each clip as you go. You can hide the fairy light trail to the plug socket by placing a few presents beneath the tree.

Christmas decorations don’t just have to be hung from the tree. With the new 3M Command Clear Mini Hooks you can hang your decorations just about anywhere including your windows and because they are clear, the hooks won’t show up. Pretty Scandinavian baubles look really effective hanging from the window.  Alternatively, you could hang them along the top of a mirror or on the glass pane of your front door, if you have one.

Christmas is not the same without stockings, so why not use some bright and festive ones to create a decorative feature in your home? Using the 3M Command Clear Medium Hooks you can hang your stockings from the wall, along the banisters, from a mantelpiece, the end of a bed or the back of a chair. These hooks will hold up to 900g /2lb in weight.
