As summer turns to autumn, there is still plenty to be getting on with in the garden. In this video award-winning gardening expert and TV presenter Chris Beardshaw gives advice to those who are determined to brave the change in weather.

He talks about propagation and collecting seeds, taking cuttings, and caring for wildlife.

Chris is a regular face on our TV screens. He has presented Gardeners’ World, and also appeared on The Flying Gardener, Hidden Gardens, Great Garden Detectives and Country Lives. He is also a regular panellist on Radio 4’s Gardeners’ Question Time.

Chris has also recently announced his membership and support as an ambassador to the gardening arm of the Grant’s After-Hours Club.

A study commissioned by Grant’s Whisky, found that 18 per cent of men like to unwind with a spot of gardening. The poll found that four in 10 dads admit they struggle for some ‘He time’ because of all their other commitments such as long work hours or evenings spent ferrying the children around.

Three quarters of those polled fall into the TBBBs (Too Busy with Ballet and Brownies) category and so would welcome and chance they have to spend in the garden.

Chris says: "The Grant’s After-Hours Club gives members the chance to get more from their interests. It is like a garden: it just gets better every year.

"Whatever size plot you have, you’ll find plenty of ideas in the Grant’s Garden Terrace for how to make the most of your outside space throughout the year - whether you have a full weekend to spend on it or just a few minutes after work."
